The Jackery Portable Power Station Explorer 240 is a lunchbox-sized tagalong pal for outdoor adventures that demand forms of entertainment other than the outdoors and adventures. You know, laptops, drones, your Nintendo Switch.
As its name suggests, Jackery has fitted the Explorer 240 with a 240 watt-hour (16.8Ah, 14.4V) lithium-ion battery pack. It feeds power to any device operating at 200W or less via an AC outlet, 2 x USB-A ports, or 1 x DC car port. In addition to using the included AC adapter or car charger, you can recharge the Power Station itself with a solar panel. Jackery recommends their SolarSaga 60W, which will fully re-up the Explorer 240 in 7 hours when placed in straight, full sun.
Also of interest: “Jackery” sounds like a portmanteau of the words “jackass” and “tomfoolery,” joining forces to create a term with a more nuanced definition. Something like, “Idiot shenanigans” or, “Dumb shit done by ignorant people.” And since jackery is pretty much consuming the planet right now, I think I’ll submit it to the Oxford English Dictionary to take into consideration for their new words of 2020 update.
